The dog days of summer are here, and I'm glad! I'm enjoying a slower pace of life now that my hectic spring show season is over. But that doesn't mean nothing's going on. I've got a gallery show in July-August, I'm planning my home Art Party for September, and I just revamped my website. Read all about it below.

Gallery Show in Ventura

Several of my paintings will be on exhibit in the Red Brick Gallery in Ventura, California, from July 13 to August 17, 2009.

 

I will be there in person during the opening reception on Saturday July 25, from 6pm to 9pm. I'd love to see you there!

 

The show, called "Summer's Breeze," will feature work by several artists in addition to myself. The gallery also sells handmade jewelry, sculpture, decorative tiles, and other fun stuff. If you can, stop by and check it out!

 

Red Brick Gallery is located at 315 E. Main Street, Ventura, CA. The gallery is open 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays). Hours are 11am to 6pm, with extended hours 10am to 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays. If you go, tell the owner, Jennifer Livia, that Barbara Carter sent you!

September Art Party

I'm having an Art Party in my home this September, and you're invited! And all your friends are, too.

 

Save the date: Saturday September 12, 2009.

 

I'll have all of my paintings hung up in my house. Because my art studio is also in my house, you'll get to see where the magic happens. Plus you can meet my cute, friendly little dog. He's sure to steal the show.

 

This is in Valencia, AKA Santa Clarita, about a half-hour north of Los Angeles. I'll include driving directions in my September newsletter. Pencil the date on your calendar!

 

Website Revamp

Every couple years I get an itch to give my website a complete makeover. Right on time, I just got that itch again! So I redesigned my website. (Being something of a web geek I did all the coding myself.) So now my website has a whole new look and feel.

 

 

I went with a minimalist style to keep the focus on the art. Take a look!
